Laser Printer
A printer which uses a laser or similar light emitting device to paint the image of what is being printed onto a photo sensitive drum in turn making the drum attract toner which is then transferred to the print medium and fused to it with heat.
Layman's Definition: A laser printer uses toner which is usually a special form of plastic particles that are melted with high heat to paper or other print medium. Given that the ink is generally made of a plastic material, it does not smear when it gets wet like ink from an inkjet can.
